The Fall of The New Empire

9^th of May 2018, the day where Malaysians create a new history in the country political scene. The one who lead all of the movement to teardown the old government was the man who lead the UMNO party in the past, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed. One of the most influential man in the world, he’s even united an old enemy to form the coalition which called Pakatan Harapan (PH). Even someone who he has a big problem with like Muhyiddin Yassin, Lim Guan Eng, and even Anwar Ibrahim are joining him together to fight Barisan Nasional (BN) government under one roof.

After 2 years taking the title as the new government which being called “Malaysia Baru”, the unexpected happen in the middle of pandemic Covid-19. They call it “Langkah Sheraton”, at that night, the social media were furious. Many kinds of stories pop up in the social media and it comes in different version but some said that all of this was one of the big plans from Tun Dr Mahathir, nobody knows the exact story. One thing that can be confirmed, the 2 years old Pakatan Harapan government trembles from the inside and then fall after Tun Dr Mahathir resigned as the Prime Minister of Malaysia and at the cabinet also fall automatically.

At that time, it considered as one of the most epic political crisis that ever happen in Malaysia. Every single politician in Malaysia need to make a stand about who they support because everyone wants to be the Prime Minister at that time. Even the King get involve in this political crisis, every and each one of the Parliament members need to come to the castle and get interviewed by the King to know who do they support and at once, determined who have the simple majority to be the next new government.

The verdict yet to come, Tun Dr Mahathir still sit as the Prime Minister but only as an interim. Many people said that this event was one of the biggest betrayals in Malaysian politic, but politic is politic, nothing dirtier than politic itself. That’s how Tun Mahathir survive this long, he even retired once and comeback to the political scene just to defeat BN but this is another story. It’s a defeat for Tun Mahathir as the King announce that Muhyiddin Yassin got the simple majority and will be name as the new Prime Minister of Malaysia under the new coalition Perikatan Nasional (PN), that’s fulfill the fall of the New Empire. It’s very crazy as Malaysian got to experience 3 different Prime Minister in only 5 years.

Now, there’s more to come because we will see whether Muhyiddin can survive or not because Tun Mahathir will not let this slide. Maybe we will have a new Prime Minister at the end of this year, nobody knows what will happen. Just want to say that this event was the same as the fall of the Rome empire, it’s not because of war, it’s because of the traitor from their own man.
