Heaviest handbag in the world

Birkin handbags are always a classic. Admired by fashion enthusiast and celebrities alike. However, this 100-pound Birkin bag is stone-carved and is surprisingly still cheaper than the real thing. The bag is carved by Barbara Segal who carved the bag out of stone like orange calcite.

Segal is a graduate of Pratt University and started making product models for Avon Cosmetics in the 1980s. Her hand-carved bags are true to size and detailing of the original bag and it also includes the status tote's signature leather folds, tight stitching and even the lock.

She acquired materials from all over the world, including the Grand Canyon to a region in Iran. A bag typically takes her 3 months to finish.

Segal's works can go from $45,000 to $65,000 according to nypost.com, but a real Birkin recently sold for more than $300,000.
