Proof that Tom Hanks is a humble person.

Image
Tom Hanks is one of Hollywood’s most famous actors. Known for his voice acting of Woody in  Toy Story 1, 2  and  3  as well as his groundbreaking performances in  Forrest Gump  and  Cast Away.   Hanks has achieved high acclaim and reached a net worth of $350 Million only a few years into his long-lasting career. Despite his fame and fortunes, Hanks hasn’t let it all go to his head.  Remaining a humble and not-so-flashy individual. He purchased a modest Scion xB, which left a small dent of just $18,675 in his bank account. The Scion xB is a car associated with people who are on a budget. Hanks is definitely not on a budget, but perhaps he invests his money in other things like charities and business ventures, that we aren’t aware of. By Safwan Kasim

Gotye hasn’t released any new music in recent years, but he’s stayed busy. In 2014, he launched Spirit Level, an independent record label, which he oversees today. Method Acting : A Quick Explanation

Image
To the general public, “method acting” means “going to extreme, often absurd or unhealthy lengths in order to evoke some sort of character state,” e.g. actually going without sleep for five nights because your character is supposed to be exhausted. So people who think of it this way consider it the hallmark of childish,“Just  pretend  you’re tired!” But this is not what method acting actually means. The Method is an rather complex acting system based on some of Stanislavsky’s teachings and writings. He was a Russian actor and director who, at the turn of the 20th Century, revolutionized acting by basing it in psychological realism—as opposed to cartoonish gestures and poses, which was the dominant style before his work. Almost all modern acting training (Method or otherwise) is based on Stanislavsky’s techniques, though, later in life, he wound up rejecting some of the ideas of the Method. By Safwan Kasim

I am running for president of the United States!” he wrote. Shortly after the tweet, West told Forbes about his campaign ideas, though. Fashion Rental During Covid-19

Image
With weddings on hold and summer holidays a distant dream, clothing rental has fallen dramatically since the pandemic began. It was seen as a more  cost-effective and sustainable alternative to shopping.   Several new British companies launched, loaning luxury clothes and accessories, and reporting exponential growth in their first years of trading.  H&M and Ganni were among the first retailers to begin trialling a rental model back in 2019, while several new platforms including  Hurr Collective  and  My Wardrobe HQ  have launched pop-ups in department stores over the past year.  Then the lockdown happened, shops shuttered, events cancelled, diaries cleared. Suddenly everything had to be vigorously disinfected and, as we were all holed-up at home for the foreseeable future, there seemed little need to change out of pyjamas. In the US,  Rent the Runway , the poster child for the fashion rental model, has already annou...

Beauty Industries Reacting To BLM Movement

Image
As protests against police killings and racism spread across America, most of their beauty brands have responded to the Black Lives Matter(BLM) Movement at first by posting a few words of support on social media sites. That wasn’t nearly enough for Sharon Chuter, the Nigerian-born founder of makeup company Uoma Beauty. She began a campaign to pressure businesses in her industry to do something more tangible. For starters, releasing the percent of their black employees. In her recent Instagram video, Chuter invited all companies and labels who had participated in "#blackouttuesday" to release the number of black employees they have at a corporate and executive level. "Whereas we understand and appreciate the support, be conscious that to piggyback off a trending hashtag when you have been and continue to be a part of the problem is once again appropriating and exploiting the black community. You all have statements and policies about being equal opportunity empl...

80's Fashion Trends Are Making A Comeback

Even though some of the  looks  should never resurface, many fashion trends are actually back  in style  today. Whether you’re surprised, excited, or horrified, 80s fashion has made its way to the 21st century.  Many '80s trends have resurfaced in recent seasons, both on and off the runway. Marc Jacobs inflated shoulders, Gucci brought back glitter and Tom Ford and JW Anderson added feathers to their ensembles. Celine, Louis Vuitton and Max Mara are a few of the  many brands that have reimagined the power suit. And neon, it seems, is just as popular as ever. Love them or loathe them, these trends are a clear sign that we're still obsessed with the '80s. The en...
