It's been two years since the 14th general election where 60 year ruling party, Barisan Nasional(BN), had come to an end, having the opposition to rise above for the first time in history. Not only did Malaysia face a single event in history, but it received another record when former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, took an oath once again being the oldest and first ever prime minister to rule twice. Since then, so much has happened. many questioned the capability in whether this new ruling party, Pakatan Harapan (PH), in ruling the country. Mahathir, being the longest serving prime minister, had stepped up to help lead the opposition party.  Just a few days after their win, rumours started going around on an agreement of a transfer of power between Mahathir to former deputy Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim. Many have questioned as to where the feud between both rappers, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj had started.  Apparently in March 2017, Minaj had liked some harshful comments on Instagram regarding Cardi’s music which read “dumb ass bars”. Fans, however, claimed the comments to be fake.  Later that same year, rumours had spread that Minaj had insulted Cardi through her new single ‘No Flag’ in her lyrics. Although there was no specific or direct reference to Cardi, fans however believed that it was indeed about her. Minaj defended herself by denying it in a tweet. Tension started to grow even more after Cardi, Minaj, and Migos produced ‘Motorsport’ which later resulted to tons of drama. Yet the two continued to deny their beef multiple times. Malaysian netizens on Twitter, Facebook and other social media are taking more interest in the parliamentary sittings since it was scheduled on July 13th. After the second sitting since PN took over Putrajaya in March, the word 'circus' and 'zoo' has been thrown around alot by netizens, referring to our parliament. Even the newly appointed speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Azhar Azizan Harun, mentioned to the press that it is not a zoo but a place of discussion with discipline and respect. This year was definitely different. The new normal is taking a toll on everything including big festival celebrations. This year for the first time in my life, I only celebrated Aidilfitri with my parents with all my siblings abroad. I celebrated in my hometown compared to my 'kampung' in Miri, Sarawak. We had to burn our tickets after finding out that we can't 'balik kampung' during MCO. The day started with my dad waking me up to get ready to perform the Eid prayer and listen to the sermons. When normally it was getting ready to get to the mosque, we dressed nicely to perform it at home. My parents decided we should do it with the whole family by calling my other siblings on WhatsApp Video Call. It didn't feel weird or anything, except i couldn't stop wishing that the pandemic didn't happen because its ruining the day where my family usually gets together and enjoy our time with each other. I was born on the first day of tenth Arabic Lunar month Shawwal which is also considered as the Eid-Ul-Fitr. It is a special occasion for us Muslims but for me two-in-one special. Eid gets announced right after the Eid moon is seen on the sky. Me being born after that moon was seen made my parents naming me the word Al- Helalee, which means Moon of the Eid. So, every year when the Ramadan starts I start feeling very happy. I plan thoroughly how I would spend my Ramadan and Eid. I’m not cutting cake, blowing candles kind of a guy. I would rather spend those money on donations for the people who actually needs it. On every Ramadan, I fix a day when I prepare food for my neighbours, friends or family (whoever is within my range) and call them to have iftar with me. Before Eid day I prepare gifts for people I love and the people in need with whatever I got. I surely don’t own a lot of possessions but I try to do with it. Former Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 Samantha Katie James earned a lot of criticism after she had posted several posts on her social media saying the protesters for George Floyd should just stop making a big deal out of it. Because apparently, in her opinion people didn’t just born in a certain race or country, they chose their own race, skin colour and what not.   It is completely unacceptable from a public influencer who has a lot of followers. Companies which had contracts with her decided to end any brand ambassador kind relationship with her as their products don’t support racism. People also created a petition against her with the goal of snatching her miss universe title. Later on, in a press conference she apologized to everyone. But the comments she said is difficult to be forgiven by audience still. If we try to think about the most controversial president in the current times - one name floats through everybody’s name, that is President of USA Donald Trump. Before being elected as a president he wasn’t just a random guy. It is said that he is one of the richest and most arrogant persons alive in this world. After Barack Obama people had high hopes for the next president but all the hopes started to vanish away in the air after his reign started. Whenever he opens his mouth he says something insensitive to the journalists and the people who doesn’t agree with him. In almost all of his conferences he keeps on claiming his immense intelligence by saying he knows it all. People were kind of trying to cope up with his craziness but it got worst for the multi-racial people whose ancestors were not Americans or the immigrants.
